AMAZON TEAMSTERS GATHER AT CITY HALL TO REINTRODUCE DELIVERY PROTECTION ACT

(NEW YORK) – On Thursday, February 12, at 11 a.m. ET, Amazon Teamsters and elected officials will rally outside of New York City Hall to reintroduce the Delivery Protection Act in the New York City Council and demand the council hold a hearing and floor vote on the legislation as soon as possible.

Introduced by Councilmember Tiffany Cabán, the legislation would protect last-mile delivery workers by requiring facility operators like Amazon to abide by common-sense licensing requirements and banning third-party delivery companies from New York City. A bipartisan supermajority of the New York City Council supported the legislation during the previous council’s term.
